This little brown anole was quite the athlete, running and jumping into this tree when I approached with my camera. Although I found this anole in south Florida, they are native to Cuba, the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Brown anoles arrived in south Florida and southern Georgia about 50 years ago, so they are relative newcomers there. They like warm temperatures and high humidity but are very hardy and adaptable.
