This is the largest Sansevieria plant I have ever seen. This yellow and green striped plant can grow to be 12 feet in height. This particular plant in the photograph was growing outside in an industrial park near Tampa, Florida. It has long pointed leaves with spines along the edges and has been known variously as Snake Plant, Devil's Tongue and, unflatteringly, as "Mother-in-Law's Tongue." The strange names are unfortunate because it is an attractive plant that is also an easy to grow small houseplant.
